Roger specializes in Hellerwork

Widely thought of as the deepest kind of massage, Hellerwork offers much, much more, and results that last. A systematic series of one-on-one sessions which not only takes the stress and chronic tension out of your body, but also dramatically improves your posture and teaches you to keep it that way!

Roger can make a remarkable difference to your posture in a relatively short space of time. He takes the chronic (longstanding) tensions out of the tissues using a powerful technique known as myo-fascial bodywork, which is done on a low, wide massage table using manual pressure from fingers, knuckles, forearms and elbows. Roger's technique is powerful. By improving the underlying structure of the body he reduces the day-to-day stress that builds up through life. Looking at the way you move and carry yourself Roger is able to guide you to a new relationship with your body he calls "Excellence with Ease"

What is Hellerwork?

Hellerwork Structural Integration is a combination of this deep bodywork with movement education and a conversation to relate the mind & body – exploring how thoughts, attitudes and beliefs impact on the body and how posture affects well-being. Hellerwork improves the underlying structure and therefore the way that you deal with gravity, which is the biggest force acting on us and the cause of a lot of tension. Paradoxically it is also the force which allows us to be upright. A systematic approach helps to recover balance in the body – the balance which allows more freedom of movement, flexibility and ease. In a progressive series, the inside deep core muscles are lengthened and rebalanced as well as the more superficial structures, and it is this that allows the effortless improvement in posture.

Philosophy

"I see Hellerwork as the 50,000 mile service for the body, and as well as "servicing the vehicle", my commitment is also to "educating the driver”. That’s when the results gained will really last and even improve over time. I like to see people regularly to get them through the initial Hellerwork programme which works through the whole body from the ground up over a number of sessions. Movement coaching is also important - we spend so much time sitting (at computers, in cars etc) in our modern world but we never think about how we actually do it, so teaching the simple arts of movement like sitting and standing are also an integral part of Hellerwork. Many people experience their bodies as a collection of parts or symptoms. Hellerwork gives you the wonderful experience of being all joined up again!
